Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us . CPAs, like all providers of personal financial services, are now required by law to inform their clients of their policies regarding privacy of client information. At Mark Vitek, CPA, P.A., we have been and continue to be bound by professional standards of confidentiality that are even more stringent than those required by law; and therefore, we have always protected your right to privacy. We respect your right to keep your personal information confidential and to avoid unwanted solicitations.

We collect nonpublic personal information about you that is provided by you or obtained by us with your authorization to prepare your income tax returns, perform audits or financial statement services, and provide financial planning to you. Examples of the sources from which we collect information are: client interviews, tax return organizers and financial history questionnaires. We also have information about your transactions related to billing and payment for our services.

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our clients or former clients to our affiliates or to nonaffiliated third parties except as permitted by law, the Code of Professional Ethics and Ethics Rulings of the American Institute of CPAs. Permitted disclosures include, for instance, providing information to our employees, and in limited situations, to unrelated third parties who need to know that information to assist us in providing services to you. In order to better serve you, and improve turn-around time during tax season, we sometimes outsource the data entry of certain returns to an approved secure provider. Their right to further disclose and use the information is limited by our employee code of conduct, applicable law and our Code of Professional Conduct. In all such situations, we stress the confidential nature of information being shared.

We retain records relating to professional services that we provide so that we are better able to assist you with your professional needs and in some cases to comply with professional guidelines. In order to guard your nonpublic personal information, we maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with our professional standards.

Please call us at 919-847-2981 if you have any questions; because your privacy, our professional ethics, and the ability to provide you with quality financial services are very important to us.
